Now consider that the cost of flying all the way to Quebec City won't be that much more than flying to Montreal, but if you decided to travel by land (train, bus or rental car), it's going to cost much more. But if you instead went for some other ground transport option, you're likely to spend at least 3 incremental hours (and probably more). That's an extra 3 hours around airplanes and airports over the time it will take you to fly to Montreal. There are flight connection options that range from 7 to 8 hours to fly all the way to Quebec City. That means you're stuck with 4 to 5 hours to get to Montreal. It probably also arrives too late to pick up non- flight options. American has a non-stop flight to Montreal, but it arrives to late (10:45 PM) to pick up any connections to Quebec City the same day. Most options just to get to Montreal will take you 4 or 5 hours. Normally, it shouldn't take that long, but airline schedules were massively cut back for COVID, and with borders just reopening, airline flight options will start to increase as demand increases.įor your trip in December, I think you're still best to fly.
